From the 1841 Census (HO107 Piece 1429/12 Folio 10 Page 12), Mary, 34, is with her husband John, 45, in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. John is described as being an Ag(ricultural) Lab(ourer) and of being born in the same county as the Census (Merionethshire). Mary was not born in the same county she was born in Cardiganshire). Their children are John 6, Owen 3, Lewis 1, Jane 12, Ann(e) 11, Susan(nah) 8, and Ellinor 5. From the 1851 Census (HO107 Piece 2495 Folio 228 Page 18) Mary, 45, born Llanbrynmair was with her husband John, 55, a River Boatman, born Towyn, Merionethshire, Wales, at Duck Street, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their children Susan(nah), 17, a House Servant, Ellen(or), 14, a Scholar, Lewis, 10, a Scholar, and Ellis, 6, all born in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 4240 Folio 58 Page 20) Mary, 54, was with her husband John, 64, a Ferryman, in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them was their son Richard, 19, a Seaman. From the 1871 Census (RG10 Piece 5602 Folio 64 Page 27) there was a Mary Williams, widow, 66, from Llanbrynmair looking after her Grandson John Hughes, 11, Scholar, born in London, her Granddaughter Elize Morris, 3, Scholar, born in London, and her Grandson David Morris, 1, also born in London. Gravestone gives age as 72 (b 1804) but the Census return indicates a birth year of 1807. |
