From the 1911 Wales Census (RG14PN33712 RG78PN1945 RD615 SD2 ED5 SN42) Ellis, 13, School, was with his parents Owen, 72, Trinity Pilot from Aberdovey, Merionethshire, and Jane, 58, Lodging House Keeper from Talybont, Cardiganshire, at 1 Bodfor Terrace, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With him were his siblings Maggie, 22, Housework, and Thomas Owen, 15, School. All the children were reportedly born in Aberdovey, Merionethshire. Boarding with the family were Alexander Hotson Houston, widower, 52, Accountant & Secretary (Limited Companies) from Manchester, England, and Mary Houston, single, 41, Private Means, also from Manchester, England.

Ellis Williams was for many years the Ferryman at Aberdyfi. I recall the time Ellis was out in the Sea Spray and rescued a child who had been swept out to sea on an inflatable airbed. After returning the child to its parents Ellis strolled along the beach angrily stabbing all the Lilos he could find with his penknife.
