The 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 2927 Folio 79 Page 44) has Edward, 2, living with his parents Edward Owen, 30, a Warehouseman and Annie E(lizabeth), 30. They are living in Madelaine Street in Toxteth Park, Liverpool, Lancashire. With him are his siblings William, 8, Elizabeth, 7, Jenny, 5 and Owen, 4.

From the 1901 Census (RG13 Piece 3468 Folio 96 Page 27) we see that Edward, 12, is living with his parents Edward O(wen), 40, a Pickle and Jam Manufacturer and Ann(i)e E(lizabeth), 40, at 167 Westminster Road, Kirkdale, Liverpool, Lancashire. With them in the household are his siblings William, 18, a Clacton Foundry Apprentice, Elizabeth, 17, a Bookshop Assistant, Jenny, 15, Owen, 14, a Foundry Apprentice, Ruth M, 10, Ann O, 6 and Blodwen, 4.

From the 1911 England Census for Bootle cum Linacre, Lancashire (RG14PN22421 RG78PN1322 RD455 SD5 ED15 SN253) Edward, 22, Contractor (Plumber), was with his parents Edward Owen, 50, Dealer Chandler from Barmouth, Merionthshire, and Annie Elizabeth, 50, Assisting in the Business from Aberdovey, Merionethshire, at 120 Strand Road, Bootle, Lancashire, England. With him were his sisters Elizabeth, 27, Saleswoman (Boots), Jenny, 25, Ruth Mary, 19, Annie Davies, 16, Shop Assistant (Draper), and Blodwen, 14, Scholar. All the children were recorded as having been born in Liverpool, Lancashire.
