The 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 2927 Folio 79 Page 44) has William, 8, living with his parents Edward Owen, 30, a Warehouseman and Annie E(lizabeth), 30. They are living in Madelaine Street in Toxteth Park, Liverpool, Lancashire. With him are his siblings Elizabeth, 7, Jenny, 5, Owen, 4, and Edward 2.
From the 1901 Census (RG13 Piece 3468 Folio 96 Page 27) we see that William, 18, a Clacton Foundry Apprentice is living with his parents Edward O(wen), 40, a Pickle and Jam Manufacturer and Ann(i)e E(lizabeth), 40, at 167 Westminster Road, Kirkdale, Liverpool, Lancashire. With them in the household are his siblings Elizabeth, 17, a Bookshop Assistant, Jenny, 15, Owen, 14, a Foundry Apprentice, Edward, 12, Ruth M, 10, Ann O, 6 and Blodwen, 4.
