From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 4320 Folio 57 Page 18) Edward, 1, was with his parents William, 54, Fisherman, and Jane, 46, at Garreg Goch, Barmouth, Merionethshire, Wales. With him were his siblings William, 25, Mariner, Elizabeth, 12, Ruth, 9, Jane, 8, Catherine, 7, Griffith, 3, and David, 5.

From the 1871 Census (RG10 Piece 5692 Folio 12 Page 12) Edward, 10, was a Boatman and was living with his mother at Dwnan, Barmouth, Merionethshire as his father, a Fisherman, was absent. Living with him were his siblings Ruth, 20, Dressmaker, Catherine, 17, Domestic Servant and David, 15, Boatman. All the children were born in Barmouth.

From the 1881 Census (RG11 Piece 5547 Folio 6 Page 5) we see that Edward, 20, was unmarried and a Fisherman and Boatman living at home with his parents, William, 76, and Jane, 67, at Penycei, Barmouth, Merionethshire. The remainder of the household comprised unmarried sisters Ruth, 30, and Catherine, 27, unmarried brother Griffith, 23, and married sister Jane, 29 with her husband Evan Lewis Jones, 30.

The 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 2927 Folio 79 Page 44) has Edward Owen Jones living with his wife Annie E(lizabeth) Jones. They are both 30 years old and Edward is a Warehouseman. They are living in Madelaine Street in Toxteth Park, Liverpool, Lancashire. With them are their children William, 8, Elizabeth, 7, Jenny, 5, Owen, 4, and Edward 2.

From the 1901 Census (RG13 Piece 3468 Folio 96 Page 27) we see that Edward O(wen), 40, is with his wife Ann(i)e E(lizabeth), 40, at 167 Westminster Road, Kirkdale, Liverpool, Lancashire. Edward is now a Pickle and Jam Manufacturer. With them in the household are their children William, 18, Clacton Foundry Apprentice, Elizabeth, 17, Bookshop Assistant, Jenny, 15, Owen, 14, Foundry Apprentice, Edward, 12, Ruth M, 10, Ann O, 6 and Blodwen, 4.

From the 1911 England Census for Bootle cum Linacre, Lancashire (RG14PN22421 RG78PN1322 RD455 SD5 ED15 SN253) Edward Owen, 50, Dealer Chandler from Barmouth, Merionthshire, was with his wife Annie Elizabeth, 50, Assisting in the Business from Aberdovey, Merionethshire, at 120 Strand Road, Bootle, Lancashire, England. With them were their children Elizabeth, 27, Saleswoman (Boots), Jenny, 25, Edward, 22, Contractor (Plumber), Ruth Mary, 19, Annie Davies, 16, Shop Assistant (Draper), and Blodwen, 14, Scholar. All the children were recorded as having been born in Liverpool, Lancashire.
