- From the 1871 Census (RG10 Piece 5603 Folio 35 Page 29) Sarah Ann, 25, must have been pregnant with John Daniel and she was living with her husband David, 25, who was set up in his business as a Tailor and Daper and was employing 1 man. They were both at Meirion House (Tailor and Draper Shop) in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. The employed man was Rees Jones a 17 year old unmarried Tailor from Llanbrynmair, Montgomeryshire.
From the 1881 Census (RG11 Piece 5478 Folio 40 Page 2) Sarah Ann, 35, was with her husband David, 35, a Tailor and Draper, at 7 New Street, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their children John Daniel, 9, Sarah Ann, 8, Sephorah, 4, and David Llewelyn, 1. They had two other children that sadly died very young - Elizabeth Mary who lived about 2 years and David Llewelyn just two months. Also in the household was an Ellen Spoonley, 20, a General Servant from Bryncrug, Merionethshire.
From the 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 4587 Folio 37 Page 5) Sarah, 45, was with her husband David, 45, a Tailor and Draper, at 6 Sea View Terrace, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their children John D(aniel), 19, a Drapers Assistant, Scholars Sephorah, 14, David Ll(ewelyn), 10, Edwin, 7 and Arthur J, 4, and young Blodwen, 2. Also in the household was a Domestic Servant by the name of Margaret S Humphreys, 21, from Rhos Fawr, Caernarvonshire.
From the 1901 Census (RG13 Piece 5190 Folio 24 Page 11) Sarah, 55, was with her husband David, 55, a Tailor and Draper, at Royal House, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their children Sarah A(nn), 28, a Drapers Assistant, Sephorah, 24, a Hospital Nurse, Scholars Arthur J, 14, and Blodwen, 12, and a General Domestic Servant by the name of Margaret Evans, 17, from Pennal, Merionethshire.
