Has anyone come across a Humphrey Rees Born Pennal area around 1809 who married Mary Evans in 1838 in Liverpool but who subsequently lived with his family at Barmouth. I have details of him after his marriage but am unable to confirm his parents. they may be William and Jane Rees who lived at All goch Llangelynin in 1809 but at present I have no proof of this. Any help would be much appreciated. Helen

My grandfather Walter Whall Durrant was the brother of George Ernest Durrant who was born in Islington. He emigrated to Canada probably in 1920's. He married Ada and had a son George. Great uncle Ernest used to send me new issues of Canadian stamps until his death in the 1960's. I have lost all contact with the relatives in Canada.

Hello What a great website! I’m wondering if you can help me. I’m looking for information on my grandfather George Durrant, a music hall artist, who was born sometime between 1872 and 1877 in Clerkenwell, London. His father was George Durrant, a builder. I am looking at George Ernest Durrant b.1877 (I29398) in your tree as a possibility and would like to make contact with other family members to see if there is some information that might confirm this. Kind regards Beverly

Dear Williams family, Your website and the extensive work it contains is an inspiration. I have just been given a month's use of by my daughters, so I at the earliest stage of this journey. My late mother was Lily Loftus, daughter of Ely and Gertie Loftus who employed Annie Brown as one of four servants in their home in Albert Road in Southampton. This has come as a great surprise to me as I had assumed Ely was poor immigrant, and was obviously doing very well by 1911. My grandfather's family did well in England, for example his brother Michel's family founding Accurist watches. I have a photo of my grandparents shop which, from appearances seems to be taken roughly around the time Annie Brown was living there, and it shows my grandfather, his brother, and three young women, one of whom could possibly be Annie (plus a passing policeman who thought he'd also pose for the photo). I assume the photo was taken in Albert Road, where I am assuming they lived over the shop. I understand that the building is now a Threshers Wine shop. I would be more than happy to send you a copy. Best regards, Laurence Trackman

  1. I am researching the Trigg family, and a Thomas Trigg born around the turn of 1800 in Westbury on Severn. I find however that there are three people named Thomas Trigg registered on the parish record then viz–
Thomas Trigg christened 1799 born to William and Elizabeth Trigg
Thomas Trigg christened 8th February 1801 born to Jonathan and Frances Trigg
Thomas Trigg christened on 15th November 1801 born to William and Eleanor Trigg.
I can understand that we can probably discount the earlier one but may I ask you please how you determined which of the remaining two Thomas’s is your man i e the son of Jonathan and Frances. There were no burials of a child called Thomas Trigg. Thank you.

      Hi Heather,

All the information I have about the Lampard family is already on the website. Hopefully, someone reading this might be able to help though.

      Good luck with your research.
